Jac. Vandenberg, Inc. of Yonkers, New York is recalling thousands of peaches, nectarines, and plums due to concerns they may be contaminated with an infectious bacteria.
According to the FDA, the fruits may have listeria, which can cause serious and sometimes deadly infections in children and the elderly.
The recall includes more than 1,700 cartons of peaches, 1,200 cartons of nectarines and over 250 cartons of plums sold at Walmart and other stores, in 18 states, including New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
In those three states, the recall specifically includes peaches and nectarines sold at Walmart stores.
No illnesses have been reported.
