Connecticut has added 9,400 jobs this month, decreasing the unemployment rate down to 7.3% in July.

In addition, the three-month average unemployment rate is now below 8%, meaning Connecticut claimants will no longer be eligible for seven extra weeks of federal assistance.

The government, education and construction sectors saw the biggest jump in new jobs.
