Police say an unmarked police vehicle fatally hit a pedestrian Monday night just after 6 p.m. on Connecticut Avenue at the intersection of Fairfield Avenue.

They say the pedestrian who was a Norwalk resident died at Norwalk Hospital.

Connecticut Avenue was closed in both directions between Stuart Avenue and Glenwood Avenue until almost 2 a.m. Tuesday morning.
