A major back-to-school celebration brought families together in Bridgeport's West End, marking the largest turnout in the annual event's history.
Organizers said the gathering on Dewey Street serves as an important framework for local youth as they prepare for the school year.
"We are the ones they are looking to, so we have to be on our best behavior," said event organizer Eve Parsons. "We have to be an example for the kids."
