Experts are raising awareness about summer safety.
Doctors from Connecticut Children's say activities, such as swimming, riding bikes or playing outside can lead to injuries.
Heat stroke is also very common in children because their bodies heat up faster.
Officials want to remind people to never leave kids alone in a car, and always look before they lock.
Cars can also overheat, even in the shade.
"You can keep an item like a teddy bear or a binder in the front seat to remind you when your child is riding with you or even keep your phone or your pursue in the back seat. Some new vehicles even come with back seat reminders and if you see a child in distress in a vehicle act fast and call 911 and get help immediately," Robyn Matloff, MD, MPH, nephrologist at Connecticut Children's.
Officials also encourage everyone, especially kids, to drink water and stay hydrated.
