Gas prices in Connecticut are nearly a dollar cheaper than they were a month ago. Experts say they?re likely to remain that way for a while, but not forever.
Michael J. Fox, of Gasoline Dealers Association of America, says declining gas prices will soon slow. He attributes the decrease to speculators? exit from the commodities market among other causes.
?We have to make sure once Congress goes back in session we get the speculation bill passed that we put in, or we could see the sea-saw effect go back to $4 or $5 again,? Fox says.
Drivers say they're not convinced prices will stay where they are, but for now are enjoying the relief at the pump.
