An important bill to support the fitness industry is being discussed in Washington, D.C. due to a Connecticut organization.
Kurt Kling, who owns Cross Fit Red Zone in Newtown, says he lost tens of thousands of dollars each quarter after having to close because of COVID-19.
Kling says now more patrons are coming back, but hopes a group called Connecticut Fitness Alliance - whose mission is reopening, relief and recovery for the fitness industry - will pass a bill in Washington.
Lauren O’Connell, at The Edge Fitness Club in Trumbull, says Connecticut Fitness Alliance could get gyms headed in the right direction.
O'Connell and Kling say the Alliance is giving them hope.
More than 52,000 people are employed in the fitness industry in Connecticut at almost 700 facilities.
