State lawmakers honored the Hartford Whalers’ 50th anniversary with a proclamation on Tuesday, the Connecticut House said.
The proclamation offered “sincerest congratulations” to the team, which played its last game in Hartford in 1997 before becoming the Carolina Hurricanes.
Since then, Connecticut has made unsuccessful attempts to attract two other NHL teams to the state.
