A mother and daughter from Eastern Connecticut have been charged in connection with the Capitol riot on Jan. 6.
Jean Lavin, 56, and Carla Krzywicki, 19, faced a federal judge in Hartford Tuesday.
Prosecutors say the two were arrested Tuesday after an investigation that began with a Facebook picture posted by Krzywicki showing the two of them at the Capitol.
The FBI says it then found multiple pictures from surveillance cameras that showed the two of them making their way up makeshift ladders and into the Capitol building.
Both were released on bond.
