Connecticut officials announced plans Wednesday for three new power plants to be built in southern Connecticut.State leaders say the projects will provide more power in times of high demand and lower energy costs.?They meet peak demand [while] hopefully avoiding environmental damage and providing some financial relief to consumers struggling to make ends meet,? says Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal.The Department of Public Utility Control says the people of Connecticut could save up to $30 million a year.Officials plan to build the plants in Bridgeport, Milford and New Haven.
