A local caregiver was celebrated on Thursday for going above and beyond for senior patients at BrightStar Care.

Charlotte Jones, of Stratford, was given the Regional Northeast Caregiver of the Year award.

The senior facility held a surprise ceremony to celebrate her achievement and dedication to patients.

Jones says she plans on going back to school to become a nurse.
