A Connecticut State Police K-9 patrol car was sideswiped early Saturday morning on the shoulder of I-91.
It happened in the southbound lanes just north of Exit 27 around 3 a.m.
The trooper and his K-9 were inside the car with its emergency lights on to protect the scene of a motor vehicle accident.
A driver traveling in the left lane drove through a flare pattern, entered the median and swiped the driver's side of the car.
The driver then crossed all four lanes of traffic before coming to a stop on the right shoulder.
Everyone involved suffered minor injuries and were treated at Hartford Hospital. The K-9 was uninjured.
The driver received a summons for reckless endangerment.
