Stamford officials have opened three cooling centers.
Officials say the Long Ridge Fire Department is available for public use if anyone needs to stop in for a drink of water or some time in the air conditioning.
They say it's best to take precautions in hot weather, because heat exhaustion can sneak up on you.
Officials say the other Stamford cooling centers are at the fire department headquarters on Main Street and the government center on Washington Street.
