Officers say they have located the white BMW seen in surveillance video hitting Evelyn Agyei's car twice and forcing it off the road.
Agyei died when her car crashed into a tree on Boston Avenue in Bridgeport. Her 11-year-old son was also hurt in the crash. Agyei's other son Kwasi Duodu says he believes road rage was the cause of the fatal accident.
Bridgeport police refuse to speculate on a motive, saying that people can come to their own conclusions after seeing the video released by the department.
Police Chief Joseph Gaudette did say, however, that the two drivers did not know one another. Sources tell News 12 Connecticut that the woman police have identified as the other driver is a state corrections officer.
Investigators say they impounded the vehicle as evidence and determined the owner was driving it at the time. They say the damage to the BMW that was found appears to match up with the crime scene, and that it is now up to the state police lab to confirm it.
Police say they have interviewed the suspect several times and expect to make an arrest soon.
