5h agoCity Council Member Jorge Cruz is demanding city officials shut down hookah lounges in Bridgeport.
His concerns comes after a shooting incident near a hookah lounge that happened over the weekend.
"Well, my constituents are very concerned and afraid about all this gun violence going on. Anybody would be afraid to be awakened early in the morning with gunshots,” Cruz said. “You never know if a bullet is going to come through a window or what so, it's very scary, and it's got to stop, and we as city officials and the police department [have to] find a way to have them shut down complete until the state law changes."
Police said no one was arrest or injured in the shooting.
