Many people are still dealing with the fallout from the devastating condo fire on Richards Avenue in Norwalk – including one couple who lost their dog.
Melissa Stevens and her boyfriend weren't home at the time of the fire, but their dog, Cano, was.
Since their apartment sustained some of the most damage, they haven't been able to go upstairs and look for him yet.
Stevens says the fire began a floor below them after a cigarette was improperly discarded.
Cano – a male shiba inu – is 3 pounds, white and has a curly tail. The dog is the size of a beagle who is very scared of smoke alarms.
The couple is urging anyone who may find Cano, or any other stray animals, to call the Norwalk Animal Shelter.
