State court officials say arguments will begin tomorrow in the appeal of a case involving a Bridgeport police officer cleared of all charges after he shot and killed an unarmed man.
Lt. Brian Fitzgerald shot Frederick McAllister in the back during a chase in 2008.
Fitzgerald says he fired after McAllister reached for what he thought was a gun.
The state's attorney's office cleared Fitzgerald of any criminal wrongdoing and a civil court jury also found Fitzgerald used reasonable force during the incident.
McAllister's family has appealed the civil verdict.
