People across several local communities are coming together for a cause as COVID-19 cases continue to increase around the country.
The Weston Easton Redding Covid Response Team was formed in April by state Rep. Anne Hughes and has been making PPE.
Several people in Monroe ages 22 to 94 are sewing masks. In Weston, high school students are making face shields and have also made gowns.
All totaled, 1,500 hundred masks and about 3,000 face shields have gone out to various organizations including nursing homes, homeless shelters and hospitals.
The response team is looking for more volunteers.
