Crews rushed to the scene of a house fire at 188-186 Castle Ave. in Fairfield on Thursday.

Upon arrival, they found the residence engulfed in smoke and flames.

It took multiple crews from the Fairfield Fire Department to extinguish the blaze.

The Fairfield Fire Marshals Office is working with State Police to determine the cause.

This was the third fire in Fairfield that day. Crews also responded to a vehicle fire and a brush fire.
