Crews break ground on new VA clinic to serve veterans in Monmouth & Ocean counties

A groundbreaking ceremony was held Monday in Ocean County for a new veterans’ clinic.
The 68,000-square-foot facility is located off Hooper Avenue in Toms River. It will serve thousands of veterans in Monmouth and Ocean counties.
“Our veterans who have served, some have PTSD, other service members have disabilities. They need help…It's a true comprehensive approach to say we care about our veterans both in word and in deed,” said Republican Rep. Chris Smith.
“We've got it delivered for the veterans. This is an important step and honestly for me, until I see doors open and veterans going in, I'm going to still be making sure that this thing is pushing along,” says Democratic Rep. Andy Kim.
The new facility will replace the 30-year-old one in Brick Township. It is expected to open by the spring of 2024.
