A Woodbridge man died in a house fire Sunday, according to fire officials.

The fire broke out just after 11:30 a.m. on Hallsey Lane. A neighbor called firefighters to report smoke coming from the residence. When crews arrived, they found heavy flames coming from the single family home.

Officials say it took about an hour to extinguish the fire because of heavy hoarding conditions inside.

A man in his 70s who lived in the home died. His identity has not been released.

The Woodbridge Fire Marshal's Office, the Woodbridge Police Department and the Office of the State Fire Marshal are investigating.
