The Connecticut Audubon Society is asking the public for help after a pipe burst and flooded its Coastal Center at Milford Point.
The group says the flooding caused extensive water damage last month.
"It was so cold, the insulation was actually frozen in between the floor boards," says Cathy Hagadorn, of the Connecticut Audubon Society.
The Coastal Center has been closed for the last few weeks to do repairs.
"We did have to clear out our entire animal exhibit area, so we did have to put some of our animals in smaller tanks and they are scattered all about other parts of our building," Hagadorn says. "They are probably looking forward to getting back in their regular area, too."
The flooding also grounded the nonprofit's educational programs for students.
