Communities across western Connecticut continue their recovery process from the violent storms that ripped through the state last week.

Students in Newtown returned to school Tuesday after nearly a week out of class. In New Fairfield and Brookfield, less than 10 percent of Eversource customers remained without power as of Tuesday morning.
New Fairfield students also finally got to celebrate prom Monday night after the event was pushed back from Saturday.
Eversource crews were hard at work restoring nearly 300 miles of power lines from the storm that they say did more damage than Superstorm Sandy in some areas.
