Just hours after it was signed into law, Connecticut's elimination of the religious exemption for childhood vaccines is already facing legal action.
On the steps of the Connecticut Supreme Court Wednesday, both CT Freedom Alliance and We The Patriots USA announced two lawsuits they're filing in state and federal court seeking to overturn the new law.
Connecticut is now the sixth state to end religious vaccine exemptions, which would require school vaccinations for students.
Any students in kindergarten and older with a current religious exemption in place will be exempt from the new law.
Protesters rallied outside the governor's mansion, saying it violates their rights and freedom.
