The state House has taken the first step toward allowing early voting in Connecticut.
The House voted overwhelmingly to let voters decide if the state's constitution should be amended to allow early voting.
The Senate now takes up the bill, and must pass it by a three-fourths majority to send it to a referendum in 2020.
