The Connecticut House of Representatives today voted to designate pizza as the official state food.
The vote passed 131-9 and now heads to the state Senate.
The bill would also honor the state’s strong pizza-eating and pizza-making traditions.
The creator of the pizza bill, Colin Caplan, says Connecticut has some of the oldest pizzerias in the United States and the most pizzerias per capita in the country.
