The state Legislature has voted to extend Gov. Ned Lamont's
emergency powers until July 20.
"I think he's been pretty restrained for a number of months, in terms of issuing new executive orders. I think what we're trying to do is, ensure that he can maintain the flexibility that the governor needs to act in an emergency situation," said CT House Majority Leader state Rep. Jason Rojas.
A separate bill would let top lawmakers veto Lamont’s
executive orders.
That legislation is expected to get final approval in the
coming days.
