Local legal officials are responding to the arrest of a man linked to the Dec. 8 murder of Westport jeweler Yekutiel Zeevi. The U.S. Attorney's Office announced yesterday that Andrew Robert Levene, 41, had been taken into custody in Spain in connection to the murder at YZ Jewelers. Private investigator Chris Paoletti says the federal affidavit shows how detectives deciphered the suspect's alias, cell phone number and frequent calling locations. The document indicates that Levene had been traveling to and from Madrid under the name Robert Thomas. Levene, who police say took $300,000 in diamonds from the Westport store, faces federal murder, robbery and firearms charges. Investigators also say they believe Levene had business contacts with several other jewelers in the northeast prior to the shooting.Jeweler's widow wants justiceWestport police still hunt killer 6 weeks later
