State Police and public officials asked partygoers to keep safety in mind for New Year's Eve weekend.
Senator-Elect Herron Gaston said troopers asked drivers to be partners in public safety by planning ahead for a safe trip home after the confetti falls.
Gaston added with so many people on the roads, there's nothing wrong with staying home.
