? Connecticut residents got a crash course in hurricane preparedness at the mid-Fairfield County chapter of the American Red Cross Saturday.
Westport Fire Chief Chris Ackley told participants the possibility of a natural disaster hitting Connecticut is a real threat. He advises residents to consider their medications, whether their water comes from the city or a well and to stockpile several days worth of supplies. Officials also say residents should get a contact list together and make preparations for their pets.
The Red Cross also sets up emergency response vehicles in times of need so victims can receive free food.
