CT, United Illuminating reach electric bill stabilization deal in COVID-19 relief efforts

Gov. Ned Lamont and United Illuminating announced an agreement designed to stabilize electric bills for thousands of homes and businesses.

Gov. Ned Lamont and United Illuminating announced an agreement designed to stabilize electric bills for thousands of homes and businesses.
Lamont says the state has agreed to give UI a $46 million "credit" from its share of federal COVID-19 relief money.
In return, UI will not seek to raise its base distribution rate until May of 2023.
The last time the company raised its distribution rate was 2019.
