Several Connecticut communities held local primary elections Tuesday, including Bridgeport and Stamford.
In Bridgeport, incumbent state Sens. Marilyn Moore and Ed Gomes were challenged by fellow Democrats, City Council President Tom McCarthy and Board of Education Chair Dennis Bradley, both of whom won the party's endorsement in May.
Other local primaries involved seats in the state House of Representatives.
