Computer and phone systems were overloaded Monday night as many were trying to get a COVID-19 vaccine appointment after eligibility in the state was expanded to people over the age of 55.
Residents tell News 12 they have tried on the state's main website, VAMS, along with hospital and pharmacy websites to book an appointment.
Some say they were successful in the early morning hours, but as it got later in the days - appointments were shrinking.
Officials say that people may have more luck as time goes on, but didn't give a strict answer. They say that if they stuck with the old plan of prioritizing all front-line workers and people with medical issues, the logjam would have been far greater.
