A Danbury resident is being hailed as a hero after rescuing a family from a house fire.

The fire occurred on Pond Ridge Road Sunday morning.

Authorities say a garage attached to the house went up in flames with the residents still inside.

Anthony Petrella ran from his house across the street and got everyone out, including the family dog.

Fire crews were able to extinguish the flames before the home suffered any major damage.

No one was injured in the fire.
