Deep Dive: Recreational roadway traffic, gas prices up in Connecticut

On Deep Dive this week, we are looking at recreational traffic on Connecticut roadways and the price of gas.
Caleb Silver is the editor-in-chief of Investopedia, and he looked at data from Google mobility to track changes.
Silver says recreational roadway traffic is up in Litchfield County by 8.2% from pre pandemic levels.
He says people are moving around a lot in Litchfield County lately, but in New Haven, Hartford and Fairfield traffic levels for recreational travel are down anywhere from 2.9% to 6%.
Silver says gas prices are higher in every single state, including Connecticut.
He says on average, the cost of gas in Connecticut is about $3.18 per gallon which is close to the national average.
A year ago though it was only $2.23.
