Westport police say it will take until Saturday to repair a broken sewer main.
Police say the main broke close to Trader Joe's on Thursday morning, tying up traffic on Route 1. One lane in each direction of Post Road East has been closed since then.
Officials had hoped repairs would be finished by Friday afternoon, but say crews will now have to work through the night in hopes of finishing the project by Saturday.
Police recommend drivers use South or North Compo Road while crews repair the sewer main.
