Country Cow deli donated 40 breakfast sandwiches to the Fairfield Police Department for National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
Elected officials and a local business owner delivered the bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches to the Fairfield Police Department's morning shift Wednesday.
Officials say they wanted to bring the sandwiches ahead of National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
Sen. Tony Hwang of Fairfield says it's a way to show appreciation for their good work.
"In light of the frantic and the uneasiness of recent days of domestic terror, I want to reassure people and thank our law enforcement officials for all the good work that they do,"
Hwang says.
National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day is celebrated annually on Jan. 9.
