Demand for diabetes treatment drug soars as Ozempic shortage spikes in March

Experts say social media and telehealth are to blame in the high demand of Ozempic, which is used to control blood sugar in diabetic patients.
They also believe the prescription weight loss drug market is also to blame for Ozempic's popularity as it mimics an appetite-regulating hormone.
The FDA announced the shortage in August, but says that the supply will be strained throughout the month of March.
