Doctors are warning people to wear extra layers as dangerous temperatures approach this weekend.
To avoid frostbite and hypothermia, doctors say to make sure to limit your time outside.
If you have kids waiting at the bus stop or walking home from school, make sure they have enough layers on, a hat, scarf and gloves.
"What you want to do is make sure you have layers on, never have wet clothing, and with this drop in temperature and wind chill, fingers are important. Wear gloves and keep yourself warm with a hat because you lose a lot of heat from the top of your head," said Dr. Steven Valassis, St. Vincent's Medical Center's Emergency Department chair.
