Spring may be here, but doctors say flu season is still going strong in southwestern Connecticut.
They say a new strain, called "Influenza B," surfaced late in the season, and it's having the biggest impact on those who never got a flu shot.
Doctors say it's been a very active flu season because the most prevalent strain this year was not covered by the vaccine.
Experts say the flu may feel like allergies at first.
While the flu shot has not been very effective this year, doctors say it's still one of the best ways to protect yourself from getting sick.
