Don’t slip: Icy patches remain as temperatures turn frigid
Urgent care clinics say pedestrians should be wary of slips and falls as the residual effects from the weekend snowstorm linger in the frigid temperatures.
Dr. Syed Reza, of Norwalk, says as snow melts and then freezes over, patches of ice mean a greater risk of injury.
He says senior citizens are especially prone to hip and wrist fractures if they take a spill.
Residents who spoke with News 12’s Sean McCabe on Westport Avenue in Norwalk say they are doing their best to be careful.
"Just be careful where you're walking, and don't wear high heels,” says one resident.
