Dozens of teachers rallied in Bridgeport Thursday as the Board of Education walked into their meetings.
They say they want their students back to school, but only when it is safe. And right now, they don't think that's the case.
Michele King-Vasquez has been a teacher in the Bridgeport Public Schools system for 16 years.
She says she's worried about underlying health conditions of teachers and students as well as proper ventilation in the classrooms.
News 12 caught up with the chairman of the Board of Education. He said state law requires kids to head back to school, but they have the option to do distance learning if they prefer. All plans are also fluid as coronavirus trends change.
News 12 also attended a parents protest over in Fairfield. They said the hybrid model doesn't work for working parents.
