Driver pleads not guilty to developer's murder
A chauffeur charged with conspiracy to commit murder pleaded not guilty Monday to killing a Greenwich developer.
Andrew Kissel was found tied up and stabbed to death in his mansion in 2006. His driver, Carlos Trujillo, has been in custody since Friday and entered the plea at Stamford Superior Court. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bond.
Trujillo?s 21-year-old cousin, Leonard Trujillo, was arrested Saturday in Worcester, Mass., and faced a judge there on charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder. He will be transported to Connecticut on Tuesday.
Police say the arrests bring them closer to solving the mystery, but they say the investigation remains open. Throughout the course of the two-year probe, police say they stuck close to Carlos Trujillo.
Carlos Trujillo?s lawyer, Lindy Urso, told News 12 Connecticut that Leonard may have testified against his cousin under pressure from police. Urso says his client is innocent.
Carlos Trujillo will be back in court April 3.
