Driver strikes, seriously injures bicyclist

Police say a 72-year-old man is fighting for his life after he was struck by a car in Stamford this morning.
Police say the collision happened around 9 a.m. today at Tresser Boulevard and Edith Sherman Drive. They say the victim was riding a bike along the sidewalk when he turned to cross the street.
Police identified the victim as Abdul Aziz and the driver as 28-year-old Jerry Bastien, both of Stamford.
They say Aziz was not wearing a helmet.
According to police, the victim is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police say the Bastien is cooperating fully with the investigation. No charges have been filed.
