Drivers are not the only ones affected by the widening of the Route 7 connector in Wilton.
Residents and businesses along Route 7 will have their water turned off as crews move water main pipes that are blocking the construction. The crews must eventually dig up and move 5,000 feet of the pipes.
The water company involved with the project said the shutdowns will occur at night. Water officials add that plenty of notice will be given to residents.
?We?ll be very specific in terms of the times of the shutdown. To accommodate the local residents we?re scheduling all of the shutdowns at night,? George Logan, of the Aquarion Water Company, said.
Officials said they will have approximately 10 to 15 shutdowns this summer along different stretches of Route 7. The first shutdown will occur Tuesday around 11:30 p.m. and last until 5 a.m. Wednesday. It will affect those between Wolfpit and Sharp Hill roads.
The next shut down is scheduled for next week between Crowne Pond and Ridgefield roads.
