Police have issued a warning to all of those Connecticut drivers traveling around the state with snow on their vehicles.
A state law requires all drivers to clear the snow and ice from their vehicles, including the hood, roof and trunk.
Police say that by clearing off their car, drivers do not pose a threat to other vehicles on the road or pedestrians.
"We ask that everyone does their part. Clear their vehicles before they drive on the roadway to keep our community safe. Snow or ice left on vehicles can limit visibility, can dislodge off the vehicle and can strike other vehicles, which can significantly increase their risk of car crashes," says Lt. Tomasz Podgorski, of the Norwalk Police Department.
After the snowstorm earlier this week, Norwalk police stopped a total of 81 vehicles and issued 76 citations.
Each ticket costs drivers $120.
