A Connecticut man could spend the next 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to drug trafficking-related charges and violating his parole.

Court documents show Michael Cabassa was originally sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2007 for trafficking crack cocaine.

Cabassa was released in 2025 after receiving a pardon.

However, prosecutors say he was arrested again in December after being caught driving under the influence in Torrington.

Authorities say officers found large quantities of cocaine and fentanyl inside his vehicle.

Cabassa later pleaded guilty to felony charges connected to the case.

He now faces up to 30 years in prison as a result of the new conviction and parole violation.
