It is the beginning of apple season in southwestern Connecticut.
But one local farm owner says he is concerned about the fate of his apple trees.
Irv Silverman, of Silverman's Farm in Easton, says this past spring was great for growing apples, but this summer's dry spell could cause problems for the trees.
Silverman says while the trees need rain, a heavy rainstorm could end up knocking the trees over.
Apple picking season runs through the end of October.
