Connecticut's only Emergency Animal Response Service (EARS) donated its 100th K-9 medic kit to a local police department.
A total of 24 K-9 officers were killed in the line of duty last year.
The emergency response team also created a K-9 critical care program.
EARS plans to create and donate 20 additional kits in the coming weeks.
