East Haven police say a woman is
accused of convincing her husband he had Alzheimer's so that she could steal
$600,000 from him.
They say
Donna Marino stole and forged pension, settlement and Social Security checks from her husband over a period
of 20 years. Police say she also conspired with a friend who is a notary public
to sign the papers giving her power of attorney over him.
They say she kept
his suspicions at bay by convincing the man that he was suffering from
dementia.
